Full Papered Star Mare
Hearke Pref x Peke
Registration # 198896650
Ourenske is a 1988 imported baroque style full pedigree star mare from the prestigious stam 22. She has four generations of star or better mares behind her. Her father was the famous Hearke, one of the few stallions to achieve preferent status. Her dam's sire is Peke, a stallion from the vanishing Age line.
Ourenske (or Wren, as we call her) has lived a tough life, as anyone can tell by looking at her. But true to that wonderful Friesian style, she is still the most loving, sensitive, and affectionate mare on the farm. She's quiet and patient, the only mare not kicking her door when its food time, and the one who would rather stand with you than with the other horses. She's the mare that you can do anything to - clip, bathe, vet check, whatever - without even a halter. Mares like this are worth their weight in gold; and Wren passes that stellar personality on to her offspring.
Wren has delivered three colts and one filly in her time at Mythic Friesians so far. The first was Othello MF, in 2004, sired by Fetse 349, a very popular son of Feitse Pref. The second was Random MF, sired by the late and great Frans 289. Random will be staying with us and will be shown for stallion approval in a few years. For her third foal with us, Ourenske had a beautiful black filly on May 4th, 2006. Her name is Undara MF, and she will also be staying with us at Mythic Friesians.
Most recently, Ourenske had a big, modern colt on May 11th, 2007. His name is Wolfric MF. Reserve champion at his keuring, he is a stallion contender. We had decided when he was born that if Wolfric was still with us on his second birthday, we were keeping him until he is old enough to keur as an adult. He was, so we are, and he is one colt that I'm glad didn't sell! To visit his page, click here.
Ourenske is now retired from breeding. She will be living out her life here at Mythic Friesians, enjoying the life of comfort and priviledge that she has earned!
